What is Disney Lorcana?
Disney Lorcana is a so-called Trading Card Game (short TCG) – a trading card game, similar to Pokémon or Magic: The Gathering. Just with one small difference: Here your favorite Disney characters take center stage! The game was developed by Ravensburger, and it’s the first time Disney has launched its own trading card game on a large scale.
What is the game about?
In the game, you are an Illumineer – a kind of wizard with a very, very large pen. Your task? With the help of magical ink, you summon Disney characters, collect legend points, and try to outplay your opponent – but please with style.
Whether Simba, Aladdin or Ariel in her glitter form – you decide who plays the leading role in your Deck. Each character has special abilities, stats, and illustrations that invite you to dream.
How does the game work?

- You play cards by using ink (a kind of mana).
- Your characters collect legend points or challenge others to a duel.
- Whoever collects a certain number of points first wins!

Tip: You can easily recognize the rarity in Disney Lorcana by the shape of the symbol on the card – the more edges, the rarer the card.
Example: Common cards have a gray circle symbol, so no edges. Rare cards are recognized by the golden triangle with three sides. And the especially coveted “Enchanted Cards” bear a rainbow-colored hexagon – with six sides and maximum collectible value.
Collectible value & Rarities: More than just playing cards
For many players, Lorcana is more than just a game – it’s also a collectible. Especially sought after are rare cards like Enchanted Rares or alternative artworks. With high-quality Foil variants, limited editions, and exclusive Promo cards, Lorcana is also interesting for collectors looking at value appreciation.

What makes the enchanted cards in Disney Lorcana so special?
In the first Lorcana set – Chapter 1 – there are a total of twelve so-called “Enchanted Cards”: two for each of the six ink colors. Besides the striking rainbow-colored rarity symbol, you can also recognize them by their card number: it ranges from 205 to 216, deliberately exceeding the regular set numbering, which ends at 204.
Visually, the enchanted cards also stand out clearly: Unlike regular cards, they have a semi-transparent white text box that lets the artwork underneath shine through. This makes them look especially elegant and reminiscent of Full Art cards from other trading card games like Pokémon.
Important to know: The game values and abilities of these cards are identical to those of the regular versions – their appeal lies solely in their collectible value and impressive design. But that’s exactly what makes them so sought after: Enchanted cards are extremely rare, only found by chance in booster packs, and can fetch prices of several hundred euros on the secondary market. Currently, the enchanted Elsa is considered the most expensive and coveted example.
